Well, as you all know, I was HORRIBLE at updating the blog once the MAN of the house got home. Im sorry, really I am! But by all this blogging im doing now, im sure you've come to conclude that yes, in fact the MAN is gone again. No, he hasn't deployed. Yet. But he is off training his behind away up at Camp Shelby for the lucky number of 18 days (give or take a few. gotta love the military!)
I dont want you all to think that when he is away, all I do is sit at the computer. However, it is the only way i have contact with him (which is VERY important for me, as well as the kids). I dont know what it is about my personality, or those of my fellow military wife/friends, but honestly the routine doesn't ever really change. When the boys are home yes, I cook more food, I wash more laundry, and I have more interactions with people in my daily routine. Both with the hubby himself and several, sometimes MORE than several friends at a time. I do however spend less time on or even near the computer because i tend to be the 'hostess of choice'. Im no chef, im no cook, but booooy do i love to entertain. Our motto in the Bane home is, you bring it, we will cook it! And people always know if necessarry, the house is open to a crash station. Making a long story short, we spent a LOT of time washing sheets and blankets this summer! I had a HOUSEFUL of Seabees-weekly! The routine may not change but the number of people involved in the routine certainly do.
Once the people started to subside, and the boys (and girls ahem) started getting used to the new crew and family of the Fearless 74 (Nathan is in battallion 74 btw) the training and classes took off~ Leading us to today. Nathan has had several new classes and several more repeat classes but needless to say he has been busy these past few weeks. And now. FTX. AKA- Field Training Exercise. 18 days of training to him, 18 days of 'extra' deployment to me! Especially since this little 'hostess of choice' was kind enough to say, SURE id LOVE to watch your 2 1/2 yr. old Beagle for the ENTIRE FTX. Luckily, she is the worlds calmest, laziest and most LOVING puppy EVER! Great with the kids, lets me know when she has to potty (btw her name is Lily) and even sleeps at the foot of the bed and keeps my sweet lil tootsie's nice and warm! lol UNFORTUNATELY...when her happy little owner comes to brisk her away, he may not hear an answer to his knock. Im trying hardly not to fall in love with her, but boy let me tell you it is hard!
Good night friends and family!

Unfortunately, ever since Nathan has returned home from Afghanistan, I have SEVERELY lacked on my part of blogging Mommy! Lets make this long (and beautiful) story a shorter version :)
Nathan was able to return home to us the last day of March, and was home just in time for Easter with the kids! We spent several weeks of him being home without having to work and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We got to eat dinner as a family again, bath the kids and put them to bed together, and the best of all...talk face to face! Its been fabulous! We spent lots and lots of time at the beach, fishing, swimming at the river, going to car shows, craw fish festivals, concerts and fairs! Another plus to having 'the man' home, was all the wonderful updates we got to do (together lol) to the house! Its really starting to come along and we are enjoying the work we did!
Throughout the summer months, we were even more excited to have family come visit! Nana, Papa and Uncle Nick all came out in June in the Barbee bandwagon. It was a lot of fun, and we were so glad we got to share the gulf, the weather and our love! They were very happy to see the kids and were lucky enough to see the first home that we've ever purchased! A few weeks after their sad departure, Nana came back one last time before having to go back to work and spent a little more time with us. It was a quick trip but so worth her company! A few weeks ago Nathan's mom came out to visit as well! Having not seen the kids since January, she was very eager to see them, and boy did we have some fun! If i had more space on this blog id post the hundreds (or thousands) of pics we have accumulated these past few months! Needless to say it was a very eventful and fun summer!
On to fall...yes it has only recently begun but boy is time flying by! Nathan is leaving for FTX (field exercise training) in a few hours and ill be home with the kids for a few weeks. Oh and a dog! No, we didn't get a puppy, unfortunately. One of Nathans buddies is going on this training as well and has no one to watch her...so for the time being we are a family of 5! lol Nathan is due to be home just before Halloween. Crossing our fingers that all goes well! Once he returns home, he only has a few weeks with us before deploying. Again. Ahhh the life of a military family! He will be heading to Spain this time, so he should be in much safer hands :)
We love you and miss you all so much and hope that everyone is staying healthy, happy and full of life!
