Being in the military community, you quickly discover how quick the military is to say something and not follow through. However, sometimes missions follow suit without a hitch and don't ever look back! Sadly enough, we are stuck in the middle of the battle between mission and man.
Yesterday morning, Nathan was informed of a possible det. (detachment) to Haiti. There is a tropical storm moving friskily through the Caribbean as I type this, and what the effects on the countries surrounding the storm will be, is still undetermined. If the storm chooses the Haiti path, Nathan will be on a flight there by Sunday. If the damage isn't too severe, he will then return home just in time for Thanksgiving and he will have enough time to spare some attic climbing to help me with the Christmas decorations! lol But as for now, the storm is set for Haiti, and the damage is determined to be detrimental. If they send him out to the Caribbean, and the mission lasts for longer than a week or two, they will be keeping him there until the next mission comes around. What does that mean for us civilian folk? Deployment goes from 8 to 10 months, and he ends up leaving now instead of the first week of December. Hmmm...
As of right now, the tears are flowing and the kids are rising from sleep. Ill be leaving you all with the hope of a prayer and the understanding that times are hard. Please keep in mind all of the soldiers that fight for your right for me to give you this information! Enjoy your families today and be greatful for the fact that they are there and kickin! Happy Wednesday everyone!!
As a military family, we move around all the time, and I'm constantly forgetting to inform ALL family members and close friends of whats going on in our daily lives. As those of you with children know, i dont have much time to relax...juggling 2 kids is a LOT of work! So, here is our family blog so you can see where life is taking us...We love you all!

November...WHAT?!
Nathan was safely returned to us late on the night of the 22nd. He stepped off the bus just a mere 3 minutes before midnight (and 3 minutes before his 23rd bday!) Lucky him and lucky us! We spent that whole weekend resting and spending time together as a family.
Unfortunately, 4 days before his return home, my long loved camera died. Completely. It took all the shaking and rocking to get it to turn on just long enough to take one picture and I quickly grew tired of the whole shaking process. I caved and ordered a new one, hoping id have it before Halloween. I didnt. But I did have my trusty 35mm so I ran to the store and picked up film. Im just glad I remembered how to load that old camera. Needless to say, you will be seeing Halloween pictures in a week or so...after the film developes lol. The kids did have a fun and sugar filled Halloween. Landen was Peter Pan and Ella went as Tinkerbell. I decided to make their costumes this year because, well, its so much cheaper! And the fact that I made them, there will be no one else dressed like them ANYWHERE on the block :) They certainly turned out cute if I do say so myself and i cant wait for you all to see the pictures.
The rest of our week here in the Bane home is going to be a relaxing one. Im going to try and relax and enjoy as many days as I can before Thanksgiving comes, and we all know its just around the corner! Ive even already bought all the food for Turkey day (minus the perishables of course) Im set and ready to cook cook cook!
Time to make lunch for the kids.
Hope all is well with you and yours

She sneaks into the kitchen and grabs all the bananas. Peels them all and eats them. All of them!
